This standard establishes the minimum requirements to produce mechanically and electronically stable solderless wrapped electrical connections made with single, solid, round wire and appropriately designed terminals.Equipment design requirements, such as terminal spacing, are not included in this standard. Lists of typical materials commonly materials may be used in industry are included, but other materials may be used to make solderless wrapped connections prroviding the connections meet the requirements of this standard. Environmental and aging test, frequency of inspection, and quality control levels are not included in this standard.These tests and procedures, as well as any others deemed necessary for a particular application, should be performed to ensure conformance of the solderless wrapped connections of the requirements of this standard and to any additional requirments. In accordance with the Style Manual of the American National Standards Institute in this standard, the work 'shall' is to be understood as a requirement; the work 'should' as a recommendation; the word 'may' as permissive, neither mandatory nor recommended.
