Description / Abstract:
These requirements cover buoyant media products that provide fire protection against full surface fires in flammable or combustible liquid tanks or repositories constructed in accordance with the applicable American Petroleum Institute publication. The flammable and combustible fuel types are specified in the manufacturer’s instructions.
Products are intended to be applied on top of an internal floating roof of an enclosed fixed roof tank as supplemental protection or directly on the surface of the flammable or combustible fuel of an enclosed fixed roof tank as primary protection.
Products are intended to be used in installations that comply with local regulations for vapor emissions and control.
