Abstract:
Contains the following ASME Standards: ASME Y14.5:
Dimensioning and Tolerancing o The Y14.5 standard is considered
the authoritative guideline for the design language of geometric
dimensioning and tolerancing (GD
This Standard establishes requirements and reference documents
applicable to the preparation and revision of digital product
definition data, hereafter referred to as data sets.
ASME Y14.43: Dimensioning and Tolerancing Principles for Gages
and Fixtures
Y14.43 presents the design practices for GD&T of gages and
fixtures used for the verification of Maximum Material Condition
(MMC) size envelopes and Virtual Condition boundaries generated by
Geometric Tolerances controlled at Maximum Material Condition (MMC)
and datum features controlled at Maximum Material Boundary (MMB).
Most of these practices focus on the design of receiver-type gages,
which collect attribute data when used for the verification of work
pieces dimensioned and toleranced in accordance with ASME
Y14.5-2009
ASME B46.1: Surface Texture (Surface Roughness, Waviness, and
Lay)
This Standard is concerned with the geometric irregularities of
surfaces. It defines surface texture and its constituents:
roughness, waviness, and lay. It also defines parameters for
specifying surface texture. This Standard relates to surfaces
produced by such means as abrading, casting, coating, cutting,
etching, plastic deformation, sintering, wear, erosion, etc.
This set is intended for: design, drafting, mechanical,
manufacturing, production, tool/gage, quality, process and project
engineers, CAD/CAM/CAE specialists, inspectors and educators across
a broad range of global manufacturing. Special emphasis on
aerospace, automotive, medical device, precision instrumentation
and related industries.
