ANSI MH9.1

Description / Abstract: This standard formulates safety requirements for facilities and equipment used in the transfer of cargo within the marine terminal, including transfer to and from means of land transportation, in order to provide a safe workplace and to prevent injuries to employees involved, as well as to the public.

This standard, which will in no way conflict with existing regulations administered by federal, state, and local authorities, shall be applicable to all requirements for the prevention of injuries or accidents in marine terminal operations.

This standard is in all cases directed to the party owning, maintaining, or otherwise exercising the final control of facilities and equipment concerned.

This standard does not apply to those facilities used in the bulk storage, handling, and transfer of flammable and combustible liquids.
